The Perfect Kitchen
Family Kitchen Renovation
Completition: Febuary 2014
Project Type: Residential

To make this kitchen work best for the client and her family, I developed a space that would be safer, becasue the clients have a son that is autisitc. The mother expressed concern over the child getting confused between the homework area and the dinner table because of his autistic personality. Autistic kids have to have routine and are much happier when everything has its own place.
Safty Features for Autistic Children:
-
Lower seating spaces to elminate tall stool
-
Placing all dangerous kitchen appliances behind the island
-
Homework area and dinner table are distinguishable by differnt locations, seating type and material.
Other Features:
-
Open shelving in front of windows to maximize the small space
-
Large Pantry for food and applience storage
-
Full breakfast nook
